With the proposal “Delicatessen of Kings”, the city of León is candidate to earn itself the title of gastronomy capital of Spain 2018.
León welcomes and surprises in equal proportions, not only because it has a very just official recognition by UNESCO summarized in this most honorable title: “León, Cradle of Parliamentarism”, but also as the ideal setting for a gastronomy route through the culinary excellences of Spain. Recipes inherited from the Roman, Arab and Jewish cultures, in conjunction with traditional Spanish cuisine, mean that of León can be considered authentic fusion cuisine. As a result, one can enjoy both the more traditional gastronomy of North Spain and highly innovative proposals in this town, in prestigious restaurants recognised on both a national and international level.
The winner will be announced next 17th October. León Travel and Leisure supports the candidature of León as the Spanish capital of the gastronomy 2018, because we truly believe its gastronomy is not only for tasting, one can also experience it through traditions and experiences.
